Volunteers Do Their Part to Protect Planet on Earth Day in Beloit

BELOIT — Students from area schools and volunteers from local organizations scoured Riverside Park on Monday, picking up cans, food wrappers and disposable lighters.

This was the way Earth Day was being observed in Beloit as dozens of people turned out to make a difference in protecting the environment and bringing awareness about the cost of pollution and littering.
