Laura Benisch
Director of Career Planning
and Partnerships
As Director of Career Planning and Partnerships, Laura's main goal is to ensure The Lincoln Academy scholars graduate career and college ready. Scholars at all grade levels will participate in career exploration and work-based learning opportunities aligned with their individualized learning plan. The Lincoln Academy will graduate 100% of scholars from high school ready to enroll in college, enlist in the armed services, or be employed in a living wage job. Laura works closely with local colleges and businesses to develop partnerships that support our mission.
Laura earned her BSE in Business and Marketing Education from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater and her M.A. from National Louis University in Educational Leadership. Most recently she completed her Career and Technical Education Certificate at the University of Wisconsin-Stout.
Previously Laura worked as the Work-Based Learning Coordinator at a local high school. During her time there she built the program from the ground up helping place over 60 students in work-based learning experiences with 30 of them earning Youth Apprenticeship certificates. On average over 40 graduating seniors earned industry-recognized certificates. Laura has experience with developing partnerships with local businesses and colleges.
In her free time, she enjoys traveling with her husband and 8-year-old son.
