Kari Flitz

Chief Instructional Officer

Kari A. Flitz is the Chief Instructional Officer at The Lincoln Academy, bringing more than 30 years of experience in advancing scholar achievement, teacher development, and systemic school improvement. Since 2020, she has led the school’s K–12 academic program, overseeing curriculum review and adoption, educator training, district assessment coordination, MTSS implementation, and character education initiatives. She is dedicated to fostering academic excellence, continuous curriculum review, professional development, and data-driven decision-making to support scholar success.

Kari is actively engaged in statewide educational leadership, including her current chair appointment to the Wisconsin Early Literacy Curriculum Council (ELCC), where she advises the State Superintendent and helps recommend early literacy curriculum for Wisconsin’s 5K–3rd Grade classrooms.

Before joining The Lincoln Academy, Kari served as Chief of Academics in Milwaukee, where she led four charter schools to achieve Wisconsin DPI 5-Star School Report Cards and “Exceeding Expectations” ratings. She has also served as an Elementary Curriculum Director, classroom teacher in Milwaukee public and private schools, and volunteer teacher for Haitian refugee children in the Bahamas.

Kari holds a B.A. in Elementary Education (Magna Cum Laude) from Cardinal Stritch University, three master’s degrees in Education and Leadership from Alverno College and National Louis University, and licensure as a Director of Instruction and Principal. She is also a graduate of the KIPP Leadership Development Program. Kari lives in Delavan, where she enjoys reading, hiking, and time with family.
