Janae Gile

6th - 12th Grade Principal

Janae is a highly dedicated, compassionate, and experienced school administrator and is known for her commitment to building positive relationships and ensuring scholars are prepared for the many choices that life provides them. With a career spanning over two decades, Janae has consistently focused on the holistic development of scholars, fostering an environment that promotes both academic excellence and personal growth.

Janae earned her Bachelor's degree and Master's in School Counseling from University of Wisconsin-Platteville. She began her career at a local school district serving as a High School Counselor where she demonstrated an ability to connect with scholars and families to cultivate a genuine sense of trust and respect and explore opportunities after graduation. Recognizing an opportunity to have a larger impact on the school community, she pursued two additional Educational Specialists degrees, both in Administration and Supervision, from National Louis University & University of Wisconsin-Superior. As she moved into administrative roles, she served as both a High School Principal and Director of Academics & Innovation. In both roles, she focused on scholar & staff engagement, impactful instructional practices and professional development, and mentoring new staff and administrators.

Throughout her career, Janae continually spearheaded initiatives and programming that prioritized relationship-building and scholar well-being and achievement. Janae firmly believes that a positive school culture, built on mutual trust and respect, is the foundation for scholars to flourish academically, socially, and emotionally. She actively fosters partnerships with families, teachers, and the wider community to create a joy-filled and inclusive learning environment. Recognizing the importance and impact that educational systems can have on scholars and opportunities in life, she has championed the integration of high-impact teaching methods, technology, and real-world experiences into the curriculum, equipping scholars with the skills and knowledge necessary for success beyond the classroom. In addition, Janae has presented at the state level on implementing school-based mental health services and collaborating with local law enforcement to create safe school environments and she has also trained adults statewide in the Youth Mental Health First Aid framework.

Being a transplant to Rock County and living in Beloit for over 15 of those years I’ve truly enjoyed what it has to offer. The outdoor spaces and activities such as Big Hill Park, Farmers Market, Snappers and Sky Carp games, youth sports programs, and Music at the Park have been common activities for my family. When you add the amenities with local healthcare services, banks, businesses and restaurants-Beloit has served as an excellent landing spot both personally and professionally!

In Janae's free time, you can find her doing anything that involves being near water, spending time with her husband and their three children, or walking trails with their German Shepherd.
