Heather Wilson
Special Education Director
Heather Wilson joined The Lincoln Academy team in August 2021 as the Special Education Coordinator. Heather has a passion for creating inclusive and supportive learning environments for scholars of all abilities. With over 10 years of experience in special education as an educator, and 20 years as a parent of children with disabilities, Heather has a deep understanding of the diverse needs of scholars and is committed to ensuring that each scholar receives the individualized attention and resources they need to succeed.
Throughout her career, Heather has worked closely with teachers, parents, and specialists to develop and implement effective educational plans that foster academic growth, social development, and emotional well-being. She is known for her collaborative approach, working hand-in-hand with staff to create a culture of empathy, respect, and high expectations.
Heather earned her Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education from Blackhawk Technical College, then transferred to UW-Whitewater, where she completed a Bachelor's degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders. She furthered her education with a Master's degree in Special Education and obtained her licensure as a Director of Special Education and Pupil Services from UW-Eau Claire.
In her free time, Heather can be found spending time with her husband and four children, reading books, or working in her garden.
