

Heather Wilson
Special Education Director
Heather Wilson joined The Lincoln Academy in August 2021 as the Special Education Coordinator and now serves as the Special Education Director. She is passionate about creating inclusive, supportive learning environments for scholars of all abilities and ensuring every scholar receives the individualized attention and resources they need to thrive. With over 10 years of experience as a special education educator and 20 years as a parent of children with disabilities, Heather brings both professional expertise and personal insight to her work.
Throughout her career, Heather has collaborated closely with teachers, parents, and specialists to develop and implement effective educational plans that promote academic growth, social-emotional development, and overall well-being. She is known for her collaborative and empathetic approach, fostering a culture of respect, high expectations, and continuous learning among staff and scholars alike.
Heather earned an Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education from Blackhawk Technical College and a bachelor’s degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from UW–Whitewater. She went on to complete a Master’s degree in Special Education and earned licensure as a Director of Special Education and Pupil Services from UW–Eau Claire.
Outside of school, Heather enjoys spending time with her husband and four children, reading, and tending to her garden. Her dedication to inclusive education and scholar success makes her an integral member of The Lincoln Academy team.
