Job Description

The Information Technology (IT) Assistant is the person responsible for providing support to the Director of Technology (DT).  It is the expectation that this individual will work with the DT to support technology needs at The Lincoln Academy.  The IT Assistant will help create a school environment that is focused on scholar achievement, character, and success beyond high school.  The Lincoln Academy is a school where scholars and families are supported while maintaining high expectations for all.  The IT Assistant is expected to fully embrace the school’s methodology and uphold the high expectations of The Lincoln Academy.  The IT Assistant will support an equitable environment with rigorous instruction, joyous interactions, and strong community partnerships. There may be a potential opportunity to work with scholars or teach IT classes. Though it is impossible to list all roles the IT Assistant will fill, specific job responsibilities include:

Essential Functions:

  • Manage and respond to IT helpdesk requests

  • Manage scholar Chromebook repairs

  • Maintain accurate inventory of hardware, software and necessary parts for repairs

  • Prepare requisitions for supplies and keep storage areas clean and orderly

  • Process customer requests

  • Use research skills

  • Use troubleshooting skills

  • Apply approved updates

  • Install and uninstall applications

  • Maintain information and system security

  • Maintain confidentiality of all data

  • Adhere to emergency procedures

  • Support Director of Technology

  • Other duties as requested

Requirements

Education

Computer Science degree or diploma from an accredited technical school or university, or a proven track record of relevant technical experience.

Experience

Certified Repair Techspert through ACER Inspiring Training Program preferred, but not required.

Multiple operating system experience: Windows, ChromeOS, iOS, macOS, Android

Physical Demands/Working Conditions: The majority of this job involves walking, sitting or standing, mostly indoors. The ability to physically perform the duties and work in the school setting is required.  Some conditions include:

  • Must be able to sit and look at a computer monitor, using a keyboard/mouse and typing for up to 2 hours at a time

  • Must be able to lift up to 25lbs on a frequent basis
