BELOIT, Wisc. (July 5, 2023) TLA is proud to announce the new 6th-12th Grade Principal, Ms. Janae Gile.  Ms. Gile comes to TLA from a local school district and is excited to be back in Beloit, where she and her family have lived for more than 15 years.


Ms. Gile is a highly dedicated, compassionate, and experienced school administrator and is known for her commitment to building positive relationships and ensuring scholars are prepared for the many choices that life provides them.  With a career spanning over two decades, Ms. Gile has consistently focused on the holistic development of scholars, fostering an environment that promotes both academic excellence and personal growth.

BELOIT — The Lincoln Academy, a K4-12 public charter school which opened in the fall of 2021, is growing its student population as it focuses on career preparedness and character development.


“The level of expectation causes scholars to rise higher and be more,” Interim Principal Tavi Riddle said in a January interview. “It’s mind-boggling what they can do.”


From the custodial and office staff to teachers and administrators, Riddle said everyone is pulling together and putting in extra effort to help kids succeed academically.

TLA to Host Make48 Beloit 2023

Kansas City, MO (March 16, 2023) - Make48 is returning to Beloit, Wisconsin this year with their 48-hour invention competition. Last year the event surpassed all expectations and The Lincoln Academy will once again host the 2023 event. Teams will build a prototype for the challenge with a new set of participants. The competition is set to take place August 11-13, 2023. Applications are now open.

The Lincoln Academy Announces Registration for 2023 School Year

BELOIT- Beginning Feb. 1, The Lincoln Academy will start accepting student applications for the next school year set to begin in September 2023.


Applications can be submitted online to thelincolnacademybeloit.com or at the school office from 8 a.m. — 4 p.m. Monday through Friday between. Completed applications are accepted on a rolling basis after the last day of February and are processed.


The academy will be accepting students in Kindergarten through Grade 4 and in Grades 6 through 11.

“In 2022, we had (students) in Kindergarten through third grade and sixth through 10th grade,” said Kristi Cole, Chief Education Officer at the Lincoln Academy.

Beloit Hosts Make48 Competition to Support New Inventors

BELOIT—A city with a rich history of innovation nurtured its newest inventors on Saturday.

Creative students and adults created prototypes ranging from remote-controlled reindeer to snowball catapults as part of the Make48 invent-a-thon held at The Lincoln Academy (TLA) Friday through Sunday.


Make48 is hosting maker competitions in eight U.S. cities this year. It selected Beloit as one of its event locations thanks to a Beloit College connection.
